STEPHEN BLACKEHART BIOGRAPHY - Producer

Stephen studied acting under legendary teacher Stella Adler at NYU, double-majoring in Comparative Myth & Religion. From there, he transferred to the University of South Florida and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in England.  Returning to New York, he studied with another legendary coach, Uta Hagen, while performing off-off-Broadway with New York's oldest classical theatre company, the Westside Repertory Theatre.

Stephen became prominent as a New York cult actor, performing in such B-Movie classics as Tromeo & Juliet , Rockabilly Vampire and Retro Puppet Master , along with gritty urban “dramedies” like Criminals . He also worked in the recording industry as a Sound Engineer's assistant, putting in work on albums by such performers as Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Keith Richards, Heavy D, and Cyndi Lauper.  Changing directions slightly, he moved to casting, working for Walt Disney Feature Animation ( Mulan , Hercules , The Hunchback Of Notre Dame , and Pocahontas ), Jan Sassano Casting ( Upstate ), and Bunim/Murray Productions ( The Real World , Lost in the USA ). As a writer, he worked as Story Coordinator on the first-ever “Reality” feature-film, The Real Cancun for New Line.

Today, Stephen lives in Los Angeles. He founded the production company Lion Will Productions, with whom he is developing the television series Hot HEAT as well as several feature film projects.
